“Sounds like something my grandad would say.” Keith answered as they sat down before the screen and he tuned back into Facebook. And just like that Gabe’s face appeared on screen, and he began to speak.
“Hello again people of Earth. I am visiting you once more to properly introduce myself. I am Gabriel ahh but you can call me Gabe (he smiles). I have come to your solar system to check on the evolutionary progress of living organisms. Your species has fared well in some respects and are performing rather poorly in others. I am here to make the necessary adjustments to your behavior. I am not an invader. This is not a military thing. I am in control. That you are hearing me in your language and seeing me here on your screen in human form may appear perhaps to be a hacker’s trick. So in 60 minutes, exactly 60 minutes I will demonstrate to all the world, so it is clear to everyone, where the human race is going from where you are. For the moment I would like you all to spread the word that the light has come and I will see shortly. Stay tuned.
Gabe’s two broadcasts caught the attention of Facebook who taking it as a hack attack immediate disabled Nikel’s account and removed his posts to find, further alarming them, that they could not delete them. Gabe’s broadcasts intruded into social media sentinels from law enforcement. But most dramatic was the realization that this intrusion was global and inexplicably seemed to appear on every communication device, interrupting conference calls on Wall St., communications at security installations and mothers livestreaming with their kids in Beijing.
Keith Nikel and his mum weren’t terrorists or secret agents. It was a cinch to track down the IP address.
