“JOHNNIE, JACK & JIM THEY’RE ALWAYS HERE WITH ME
PLAYING GUITAR AND SINGING IN PERFECT HARMONY
MY GLASS IS NEVER EMPTY; THEY FILL IT TO THE BRIM
I AM NEVER LONELY WITH JOHNNIE, JACK AND JIM”
I took a shine to a Thai lady who worked at the Love Bar on Soi (street) Made-in-Thailand. While sitting at the bar one night I happened to notice this exact alignment of whiskey bottles on the shelf which was amusingly coincidental to a song, so I took this picture with my mobile. This is the song-story of Johnny, Jack and Jim at the back of it.

He understands the nuts & bolts of everything in the universe, and how things actually work, from Quantum Physics to the medicinal properties of the Coyote Plant.
Amongst his astonishing and vast repertoire of knowledge is a complete understanding of music which most of us normal dullards never even dream about; since we just use our ears. Ben is a master studio/recording engineer, producer, bass player and a passable singer and all-around musician. I have to stop him from using “music-speak” in the studio because sometimes I don’t understand one word in a whole sentence.
A few years ago I decided to do an album of humorous songs about the night-life, and life in general in the real “Sin City”, Pattaya, Thailand, where I lived. I call the CD Happy Hour in Pattaya, because it is a place where the bars are open 24 hours a day, so no matter where you’re having Happy Hour on planet Earth, it’s always Happy Hour in Pattaya too.
I pretty much wrote all of the songs myself but Ben suggested the subject matter on some, and made many critical creative production calls, mostly on the spot in the studio, which were essential to the final product.
One night somewhere along the way Ben, probably under the influence of strong drink, played a song he wrote and called… Johnny, Jack and Jim.
The song kicked my ass. So I co-opted it (stole it) and changed the lyrics to suit my Thai girlfriend and the Happy Hour project.
You can purchase this song and others at http://www.koolmuse.com/koolmusic/ …or you can steal it from my friend like I did…. so long as you sing and enjoy it. Thanks!
I jealously confess everywhere I play Ben’s song, it is the smash hit of the CD.
